Role Models

Role Models are often found in the areas of public relations, media and fashion. A blondish shade of hair is desirable. It's good to have been married. Twice is even better.

Role Models have the ability to do everything. They can bring up children, be effective wives, have several successful careers in their lifetime, act as socially responsible persons, become supporters of important charities. Nobody knows how Role Models cope with their busy schedule, not even they.

A Role Model's aim in life is to fulfil her needs, wants, desires, ambitions and aspirations as well as strive for spiritual self-realisation. In an ordinary person such a variety of goals might lead to emotional conflict and physical exhaustion, but these things do not affect the Role Model. You can be running a high-fashion company and advertise tent-frocks at the same time.

The only conflict Role Models ever have is not with people but with issues. With people, they may have small misunderstandings or brief cooling off periods, they may choose to go their separate ways or progress to maturer things, but ultimately you can be certain that deep down everyone loves and admires Role Models.

With issues it is a different matter.

Here Role Models may be as aggressive and stony as they like. Stopping tall buildings from getting taller or mining implements from digging deeper, are perfectly acceptable ways of expressing their aggression. Being against the redevelopment of a boring little beach is also wonderful. But then deciding that the beach should be developed after all is okay too. In fact Role Models are expected to have the occasional change of heart just so that everyone can get reminded that this is what they do best: model roles.

The Role Model is multifaceted. She can manifest a sense of humour about everything and everyone. Except perhaps herself.

Whatever the average person achieves is always done with the help of others. The Role Model alone seems to be able to achieve most things on her own.

She has to cultivate her reputation with the utmost care. The people surrounding her are always ideal and what imperfections they might manifest such as drug-addiction, alcohol dependency, nervous disorders or depression, have proved to be blessings in disguise by turning her into a stronger person and teaching the Role Model how to cope with the difficulties in her life.

But above everything else, she would not be a Role Model if she did not declare at some time or other during her long and illustrious career that the purpose of her life is to each men a lesson, (that is, be on two committees more than she has time for), and be a role model not just to women but to other people as well. (In other words someone who no matter how busy she is, still thinks of her family's breakfast.)
