How To React To The Police

You have to exhibit a certain amount of fear. Police become very suspicious of people who do not show some anxiety. Even police get anxious when they run into other police.

It's advisable to act highly-strung to prove that you are innocent. All the guilty people, who have much more time to watch phoney television police shows, tend to act really relaxed. The way to achieve an awkward look is to tell yourself, the moment you see a blue uniform:

"Ah, there's the police. I must be doing something wrong."

If you happen to come from a Continental type environment where a healthy disregard for the law has been the practice for the past few hundred years, then the best way to inspire fear in yourself at the sight of the police is to think thoughts such as:

"Maybe paying $75 for the new 64 centimetres stereo TV was a bit cheap..."

"I wonder if the bond money on that old flat did cover the last four weeks' rent?"

Though this system is partially effective, it still cannot bring police and the general public closer together. Unfortunately, the only people in Australia who understand the police are the criminals. But that's only natural since they spend so much time together.
