Yes, there are ghosts in Australia, too

The Spectre of Green Park

Certain affluent Sydney businessmen are often startled at the apparition of a young curly-haired blond angelic figure leaning on a lamp post. However, when approached, there is a high pitched giggle and the vision fades. It's difficult to document these sightings as the gentlemen concerned are loath to come forward with the information. However, there is much whispering on Oxford Street about the apparition, named Pink Peter.

The Phantom of the Harbour Bridge

There are regular sightings on Sydney Harbour Bridge around the area of the South East Pylon. For many years there was a tea-room on top of this Pylon and patrons of the Bridge Walk have been startled to see a well-dressed woman sitting on the edge of the structure, sipping tea. The woman wears gloves and a hat and floats over the side.

This is believed to be the ghost of Edith Penfold (of the Stationery family not the Wine), who took tea daily from 1917 until her death, waiting for her young love, killed in the First World War in the battle of the Somme. Edith jumped in 1944 as in her befuddled mind the reports that the Allies had entered Paris meant that her paramour had survived but not contacted her.

The Ghost of Pinchgut

Chained up for a minor misdemeanour, Able Whacket was kept on Pinchgut Rock (which has been renamed Fort Denison) for two years. A ghostly rowing boat on the Harbour has been seen there on several occasions and is a regular hazard to shipping.
