Have Nothing To Say

For some time now, it has been realised that the greatest bar to peaceful coexistence is constituted by people who have something concrete to say. Factual statements and detailed descriptions are simply too dangerous, and those who sport them should be contained, as they're likely to cause trouble.

In the spirit of the industrious nineteenth century English who created in their country a complex system of locks, weirs and canals in order to stem the course of unruly rivers, the pioneers who created this country have diligently perfected various methods of diverting, rerouting and flattening ideas and facts, which if left unattended could upset the natural balance of things.

For this reason, though books and editorials may occasionally be factual and informative, face to face communication ought to be uneasy, vague and full of abstractions.
