1993 - Aussie Keating Goes A-CleaningAussie Keating goes to BritainAnd takes with him a parcel, And hands it to the English Queen In her pretty Scottish castle. Her Majesty at first is flattered But her smile turns to a frown When she finds inside the cardboard box Her dilapidated crown. 'Oh, why is it so badly battered?' Asks Her Majesty in tears. 'Because we had it for so long, For at least two hundred years.' 'But we've trinkets five times older, Not that I wish to bicker.' 'Ah, but Majesty, Down Under They rust a helluva lot quicker.' 'But you should keep it anyway, Antiques do come of use.' 'It's much too much old-fashioned, Ma'am, The clasp's busted, the screw is loose.' 'Ah, well, never mind, my craftsmen Will soon hammer out the nicks.' 'Ma'am, I seriously doubt it, The thing is fast falling to bits.' 'Oh, I think you'll be surprised, We build our goods sturdy and strong.' 'That maybe so, your Majesty, But we've had this for far too long.' The English Queen with disdainful look Flings the old crown in her trunk, Aussie Keating goes home light-headed For having got rid of the junk.
