1807 - Billy Bligh
Billy Bligh has gone to sea,
Gone to get the bread fruit tree,
The man just loves to disagree,
Captain Billy Bligh.
Billy Bligh is lower class,
Disconcerts the Bounty's brass,
Officers give him the arse,
Ousted Billy Bligh.
Billy Bligh is stern and grim,
By dinghy crosses the big swim,
Gets to London in good trim,
Stalwart Billy Bligh.
Billy Bligh there has his say,
Lives to be boss another day,
Governor of Botany Bay,
Successful Billy Bligh.
Billy Bligh grows angry and red
Fights with the Rum Corps instead,
Has to hide under the bed,
Bad-tempered Billy Bligh.
Governor Bligh leaves in a huff,
But London can't praise him enough,
Which proves it pays one to be tough,
Admiral Billy Bligh.
