How To Be Sexy

Australians, far from being unromantic and detached as they are often portrayed, are quite a sexy nation. This is essentially due to the country's fortunate location among the many erotic and tropical islands and archipelagos of the South Pacific where free and easy couples make courtship the centre of their existence.

But while biting the men of their choice is sexy to Trobriand girls, keeping a bride locked up in a cage is stimulating to a groom in the Solomon Islands, and sharing a newly killed pig is seductive to a Papuan couple in love, Australians have very different ideas on sexiness.

Totally ignoring people you've slept with and behaving as if nothing has ever happened between yourselves is pretty sexy.

  Tempestuous, almost.

What is considered extremely sexy is making it even more difficult to have sex the second time around. In fact, causing increasing degrees of difficulty after the third or fourth time is so sexy, it indicates a serious romantic intention on your part.

Talking about past and present boyfriends or girlfriends is very sexy in the Antipodes. It must be or people wouldn't do it so much. Other nations might call it indiscreet behaviour but in Australia talking about all your former fabulous lovers is considered very tender. You obviously feel close to your partner and can express yourself freely about what it was that made all those other people so special. In Italy people might turn around and say: "I don't want to hear about your bloody lovers, you stronzo, you!" But in Australia, people find it extra magical if you start confiding the sexual secrets of your past.

Being allowed to be inactive in bed is sexy. After playing all those sports, jogging, swimming, surfing, aerobics, what can be more erotic than to be completely inactive once you're in bed with your partner? It shows they really understand you. It shows they appreciate the active person that you really are.

Being tense and edgy during love-making is particularly sexy. Especially when both partners are.
